Yoga for Healing is a simple and safe tool to improve and promote, develop and maintain overall health and well being inclusive of; flexibility, strength, structural alignment, proper functioning of various body systems and mental steadiness. Yoga for Healing are Auckland based. It is designed for ordinary people leading normal lives. We also specialise in the therapeutic application of yoga for any condition or situation as an adjunctive tool to any other care or treatment a person maybe receiving, not as a replacement. Yoga for Healing teaches people how to improve their breathing habits while gently stretching and exercising the body, promoting a situation where deep relaxation happens naturally, giving people a sense of taking an active role in their own health, in a safe, non-competitive context. "Healing occurs when acceptance begins. Accepting ourselves as we are where we are, a realistic strategy can be developed to reduce our level of suffering and increase our level of wellbeing". Nick Wilson Director Yoga for Healing open to anyone, any age, any size or capability "Nick has unearthed the essence of yoga practice with an unceasing questioning and diligence to his own practice. In his commitment to teaching an authentic yoga he has explored and investigated various avenues including the sincere students of the great Krishnamacharya; TKV Desikachar, AG Mohan and Srivatsa Ramaswami. It was through me he came to teaching and in our work together over the years I've observed his skill in both healing and teaching, grow and blossom. His work in developing "The Heart of Yoga Teaching Manual" provided the basis for the technical section in my book. He really cares about people and understands how to apply yoga practice to each individual. He can help you, no matter your situation, practice an authentic, pleasurable yoga. Mark Whitwell / Director of Heart of Yoga Association International & author of "Yoga of Heart" the gentle art and science of self care "The healing power of yoga is the energy of life itself. Yoga is an embrace of this life force. To practice yoga is to rest in your own natural state. This is the process of the re-integration of body, breath and mind. Change is inevitable. Yoga practice utilises, directs and extends certain inherent properties and functions within the human system towards a change in a certain, desired direction". Nick Wilson |
